Be Prepared
Join an upcoming mass action meeting, either on Zoom or in-person, to learn how to plug into upcoming actions.

Bring a Crew
It’s way more fun to party with your friends and community. Commit to organize a “crew” of five or more people to take action together.

Volunteer
It’s going to take all of us to pull off a summer of sustained civil disobedience. Join a work group, help with flyering or phonebanking, and more!
Join a mass action meeting
We encourage everyone planning to join a Summer of Heat action to attend a Mass Action meeting. These meetings will give you all the information that you need to plug into an upcoming action, including an opportunity to plug into an action group.
In-person meetings will be held at our Campaign Headquarters in DUMBO at 32 Bridge St, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn NY 11201.
Bring a crew
It’s better to party with friends! Build a “crew” of five or more people to take action together. Crews can be classmates, members of your congregation or neighborhood, or whoever you want to roll with this summer. They can take action with us all summer or just for one action. Sign up to receive our Crew Organizing Toolkit and learn how to become a crew captain.
Volunteer
Summer of Heat is a huge undertaking and we need as much help as possible!
Join a Workgroup or sign up for a volunteer role:
NYC Field Team: Flyer and partake in other outreach events in the NYC metro area
Textbanker: Join a text bank - from anywhere in the world!
Phonebanker: Join a phone bank - follow-up with people who are interested in Summer of Heat
Logistics Workgroup: Interested in selling merch? Helping folks on the ground get what they need to do an action? Don't worry, joining this Workgroup doesn't mean you have to come to endless meetings! We can plug you into a role that fits your time, availability and interest.
Jail Support Team: (experience strongly preferred!) While we do not intend to engage in activity that breaks the law or is expected to lead to arrests, we are preparing for police overreach. Join the team that supports people if they’ve been arrested, remind them of their court dates and be there to answer questions.
Legal Team: Are you an attorney and want to lend pro-bono/low-bono support? Let us know!
Medics: We are always seeking trained medics to be available to provide care at actions
Art: Have an artistic streak? Want to bring rad visuals to our movement? Let us know.
