The Action
In 1911, 146 garment workers — the majority immigrant women and girls — died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. They died because of callous corporate greed and business owners who did not recognize their right to safe and dignified lives.
Today, million of people die each year from fires, extreme heat, floods, famine and air pollution. The cause is the same: corporate greed and a callous disregard for life, this time by the fossil fuel industry and its Wall Street bankrollers.
Just as the women of 1911 took to the streets in the aftermath of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, join us on Sunday, August 25th for a mass march and nonviolent civil disobedience. We will be loud. We will fight like hell for the living. And we will make it impossible for Wall Street to continue enabling Big Oil’s killing of our communities.
Whether you’re ready to take civil disobedience with us, or you only want to participate in the family-friendly march, there is a role for everyone at this protest. RSVP for more details and to get invited to trainings, legal briefings, and prep calls!
